Tourism Cyclone Recovery Programme

Following the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Evan in December 2012, the Authority was again required to take the lead role in coordinating recovery programmes for the sector. A rapid assessment was undertaken jointly by the Authority and the Samoa Hotels Association (SHA) immediately after the cyclone. A Damage and Loss Assessment followed in January 2013 and was led by KVA Consult and PLT with the support of SHA and the Authority. This was made possible by the funding assistance from the Government of New Zealand.
