Taumeasina Island Resort's VIP Expansion
Taumeasina Island Resort has recently expanded with the addition of 12 more rooms which opened on the 1st of December 2022.
These beautiful three-bedroom Cove Villas, according to the General Manager, Tuiataga Nathan Bucknall, are not just part of their VIP extension, but also an important component of the resort’s long-term expansion plan which took longer than anticipated due to Covid-19.
“They’re premium products and twice the size of our original villas. They’re big and they’re stunning, beautifully appointed and they have a wonderful view looking back over the ocean. The best part is that these villas are secluded and more private.” Bucknall said.
The three-bedroom Cove Villas, which measure 140 square meters are completely self-contained, perfect for families looking for a self-sufficient vacation. Each of the three bedrooms have a king sized-bed that can also be re-organized into two single beds.
The master bedroom has an elegantly furnished ensuite. Each room has a full-size refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, convention oven and hot plates, making it perfect for visitors who want to do some self-catering. Taumeasina also offers full service with a buggy available upon request to transport guests to one of the resort’s restaurants.
The new villas are situated on the mainland just a short distance across from the island. Their opening comes at a perfect timing as the resort expects better and promising occupancy to kick off 2023.
“Our newly opened Cove Villas have a timely opening as Samoa visitor numbers continue to increase after borders reopened in August last year, following extensive Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns. At Taumeasina, we are always ready and look forward to showcasing Samoa and our beautiful culture to all our guests, new and returning visitors as well as welcoming all our Aiga returning home to visit”, said Bucknall.
Taumeasina closed off 2022 with 85% occupancy rate, he added.
The two-time winner of the International Travel Awards for Best Luxury Beach Front Hotel in Oceania (2019/2022) has yet to look at further expansion. However, the GM said it is absolutely worth considering as part of long-term development plans. For now, their primary focus is on recovering from the protracted lockdown.
To kick start the new year, Taumeasina is the place to be with an abundance of daily events lined up for all to enjoy.
The Karaoke Night on Mondays, Pasta and Ladies night on Wednesdays, the popular Surf and Turf BBQ with live band on Thursdays, Seafood Buffet with live show by Cindy of Samoa and the boys on Fridays, the Fiafia Buffet on Saturday nights and finally, the Sunday To’onai, are a few of the well-liked events that keep everyone occupied and enjoy their beautiful time on island.
