Coconuts Beach Resort prepares for Grand Reopening in April 2023
The Coconuts Beach Club Resort & Spa at Maninoa Siumu, is undergoing a property-wide transformation with construction works having already started. This comes in anticipation of a grand reopening as early as April this year.
The resort has had its fair share of Covid-19 downhill trends, followed by the fire that destroyed the staff quartet and guest house in 2021.
General Manager Galumalemana Lina Bell, however, is adamant that their upgrading and remodeling works will be completed in time for the grand reopening on April 18th 2023.
“We have a lot of work to do to bring the facility back up to high standards and if everything goes according to plan, we will be able to add twenty-three deluxe accommodation rooms.” said Bell.
The resort is partially opened, offering 17 rooms/suites, in addition to the Coconut Spa, the bar and restaurant. All of which continue to give visitors a wonderful Samoan experience while the property is being renovated.
Guests also have direct access to the Maninoa Beach; a very popular tourist site to relax and enjoy the weather.
According to Bell, the resort's popular over-the-water bungalows or fales are currently their top priority for renovation.
“We continue to receive booking request for our over-the-water bungalows and it is unfortunate that they’re unavailable due to renovation. They have been closed for over two years and we have to ensure they’re safe and in top quality for use when we reopen,” Bell said.
This stunning resort situated on the southern coast of Upolu Island, offers unforgettable experiences with 6 of their 23 units/villas built on the water. These over-the-water bungalows are the only ones of their kind in Samoa.
At Coconuts Beach Club Resort & Spa, all the facilities are built to reflect authentic Samoan designs and contain distinctive Samoan elements.
The resort employs over fifty locals. The majority of whom are engaged in construction and labor work that is helping rebuild and remodel the facility.
Bell also acknowledged the Government support through Samoa Tourism in providing opportunities to train their staff on customer service, professional housekeeping and culinary practices. The training plays a crucial role in their preparations for reopening.
