Waterfront Market a Hit
The first day of the 2-day Waterfront Market at the 31st Annual Teuila Festival was abuzz with bustling activities and sounds, as stall operators, performers and buyers all came together to create a very lively atmosphere.
A steady flow of traffic was seen at the Market, held at the Samoa Cultural Village, when it opened at midday.
Workers from in and around town spent their lunch-hour browsing through the range of stalls selling arts and crafts, clothing, pot plants and a variety of sweet and savoury treats.
In the evening, the crowd drew noticeably larger as more people including families young and old, descended on the Market, taking advantage of the lively cultural entertainment and mini amusement park set-up featuring the Magic Circus of Samoa and Happy Kids bouncy castles.
And with the captive audience at the Market, the Samoa Tourism Authority conducted a competition encouraging people to get their Covid-19 jab at the Ministry of Health Vaccination Centre on-site, as well as multiple promotional announcements about Samoa’s newly launched Covid-19 contact tracing app, Samoa Travel Tracer.
