Samoans in PNG donate to Measles recovery efforts

PNG Samoans Donate to Measles

There continues to be an overwhelming show of love from some of the country’s very own entrepreneurs overseas. The Independent Director of the Life Insurance Corp Ltd in Papua New Guinea (PNG), afioga Pulotu Taito, Dr Lautofa McCarthy, have come to support Samoa’s efforts in combating the Medical Emergency in Samoa and the Pacific Region with a donation.

Pulotu and wife, Lydia McCarthy presented their donation to the Honourable Minister of Health, afioga Faimalotoa Kika of PGK$20,000.

“It is with a grateful heart that I acknowledge the receipt of this very genours donation.” Said the Honourable Minister.

“It is at times like this that we trully see the love of God shine through its people, and we cannot thank you enough.” Faimalotoa added.

Life Insurance Corporation (PNG) Ltd is a PNG owned and operated National Life and Medical Insurer, and Pulotu was pleased to be part of this support for his people in Samoa.

“Our company is well aware of the toll of the Measles outbreak that affected our people and others around the Pacific, and hope this donation would assist in a positive way with the ongoing recovery efforts.” Said Pulotu.

“We look forward to continue the partnership with our Health Sector.” Pulotu added.

Pulotu and Lydia are working in partnership with the CEO of Samoa Tourism Authority, Faamatuainu Lenata’i Suifua and his office, in finding innovative ways to assist with the efforts by the Government for the Tourism Industry.

Some projects are in the pipline through this partnership for the Tourism Industry and the Health Sector as well.
