The Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC) is proud to work in partnership with the Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) as part of the tourism training taskforce.

The Tourism Training Taskforce was established in 2010 to strengthen and collaborate on training workforce opportunities for Samoa’s tourism industry.

APTC had the opportunity to take part in the consultations with STA for the Samoa Workforce Development Plan, which prioritises and supports the education and training needs of the Samoan community and the industry.

As a centre for training excellence and collaboration in the region, APTC offers Australian qualifications in hospitality and tourism, helping provide pathways for graduates to work in many tourism industry sectors and for a diversity of employers including tour operators, inbound tour operators, visitor information centres, attractions, cultural and heritage sites, and various small tourism businesses.

APTC’s input into the Samoa Workforce Development Plan will help ensure that training opportunities adequately address workforce needs, for both employers and workers.

APTC is excited to see the impact that working together in partnership with STA and other stakeholders will bring in 2020.
