Samoa showcases at the China International Travel Mart 2019

Samoa was the focal point of one of the biggest travel exhibitions in China - the China International Travel Mart (CITM) 2019, which was held in the modern capital city and transportation hub of China’s southern Yunnan province, Kunming.

Samoa’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Sala Fata Pinati delivered the keynote address at the Official Opening Ceremony, and also closed the China Pacific Tourism Year 2019.

“Today the 2019 CPTY will come to an end, but the door for exchanges and cooperation will only open wider”. Said Sala. Samoa being a part of the CITM annually produces numerous cooperation opportunities, with CITM becoming an internationally influential event, and one of the largest most influential trading platforms in Asia.

It is a fair for the tourism market and offers ideas and concepts for travel in Asia for travel agencies, hotel, airline, or tourism companies, with everything revolving around tourism in Asia. In addition, there are various workshops and seminars held to expand business contacts.

Beautiful Samoa was exhibited with the Samoan Exhibitors being able to promote Samoa and network with tour operators, airlines and businesses from around the world to form new partnerships. Samoa collaborated with 9 other Pacific Islands of Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Vanuatu to promote and increase awareness on each destination and the Pacific as one.

The CITM 2019 attracted over 700 overseas buyers from 75 countries and regions.
