Samoa Tourism Industries Alliance meet on the Samoa Tourism Growth Partnership

Coordinated by the Samoa Hotels Association, the Samoa Tourism Industries Alliance (STIA) members gathered in a special meeting where they were presented with a progress report on the Samoa Tourism Growth Partnership (STGP) and an overview of the Destination Marketing Framework for Financial Year 2017/2018, with input sought from the Industry in relation to priority areas for marketing.

The STGP was covered at length detailing outcomes set for STGP assistance towards the Samoa Tourism Industry, detailing plans around Destination Marketing, Signage and Attraction Sites, as well asl Tourism Training & Delivery.

The STIA Chairperson, Ms Adele Kruse, officially welcomed all and spoke about the importance of the Alliance and outlined the objectives of the gathering.

The goals of New Zealand’s Samoa Tourism Growth Partnership (STGP) was outlined by Verity Smith, First Secretary of the NZ High Commission office and NZ Aid Programme.

Outlined also was the Marketing Programme for 2017/2018 by Dwayne Bentley, Marketing and Sales Manager of the Samoa Tourism Authority.

Marketing expert, Ray Salter talked about the STGP Marketing Programme for 2017/2018 for the NZ Market, while Alister Henchman, an expert in attraction sites spoke about signages. Tourism Training and Delivery was discussed by training expert, Dave Bamford with Faamatuainu Suifua, Planning and Development Manager of the Samoa Tourism Authority. Industry members were involved in questions and answers, and worked in groups on presented priority area topics.

The special STIA meeting was held at the Samoa Conference Center of the TATTE Building.
